"The Voice of Resins in Europe"

The European Resin Manufacturers' Association (ERMA) was formed in October 1990 previously The British Resin Manufacturers' Association to help the European resins industry meet the requirements of the European 'single market' and to provide an ongoing corporate platform to represent the legitimate interests of resin manufacturers.

ERMA entered into an affiliation with The European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) in 2006 to further promote our European interests and ensure a uniform and concerted approach throughout Europe.

Whilst remaining an Independent Trade Association, the affiliation with CEFIC is an additional means of lobbying both Legislators and Regulators, as well as inputting specific sector information and views to CEFIC itself.

Such an affiliation benefits ERMA members through early receipt of CEFIC initiatives and proposals to the regulatory process and access to contact the individual Sector Groups relevant to our industry.

The cornerstones of the Association are to promote efficient exchange of member views on issues and communicate those views through effective lobbying at governmental and Commission levels. The Association has many years experience successfully representing the interests of member companies to both government and regulatory bodies ERMA expertise encompasses the interpretation of health and safety regulations, the impact of environmental initiatives, setting quality standards and implementation of energy conservation measures.

This wealth of experience has been brought to ERMA and is available to resin manufacturers Throughout Europe. However alongside its regulatory interests, ERMA provides opportunities to build contacts with associated industries and organisations and to facilitate the exchange of information on subjects of common interest.

ERMA is growing fast with members in most European countries. It has the professionalism and drive to win full recognition for the contribution European resin producers make to industry and society. ERMA retains a Director to implement Association policy through strategic initiatives, and a qualified technical consultant who represents ERMA on regulatory committees and disseminates technical information.

Technical committee meetings provide member companies with a platform where they can air problems, learn about new standards or legislation at an early stage and decide on action to deal with technical issues.
